IIT JEE

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) is an internationally recognized Engineering institution which is the top dream of all engineering aspirants. The Joint Entrance Examination conducted by IIT, commonly known as IIT-JEE or simply JEE, is the most challenging exam that demands full dedication of the aspirants. JEE consists of preliminary examination (screening test) and main examination. Candidates who qualify screening test, which is an objective test consists of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics of three hours duration, are only eligible to appear in the main examination. The main examination is a single objective type examination, designed to test comprehension, reasoning and analytical ability of the candidate, having two papers with three hours duration each, which could include short write-ups on various topics. Both the question papers would consist of three separate sections on Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Students who have passed the plus two or equivalent examinations from a recognized Board/University are only eligible to appear for IITs. Since 2007, a candidate can appear in the JEE for maximum two times, in consecutive years. Also the selected candidate, hoping to get higher rank, cannot take another attempt. At present, there are 13 IITs amassing 5,521 seats.
